Ron Copley, PhD, CFA Founder & Principal |
Ron Copley founded Copley Investment Management (CIM) in 1985. Prior to that, Ron served in the 5th Special Forces Group in the US Army from 1966 to 1969 during which he received the Bronze Star Medal for valor as an infantry officer in Vietnam. After his military service, Ron pursued his education and careers in both academia and the investment advisory business. He has served as a Professor of Finance at Queens College, Memphis University, UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Wilmington where he published over 40 academic and professional articles. In addition to managing investments for individuals and small business retirement plans, Ron provides business valuations for legal matters, and actively provides international consulting services to foreign governments. He is conversant in Arabic and Japanese. Ron and his wife Wanda live in Wilmington, NC. They have one child, Alyx, and are members of St. James Episcopal Church. Wanda served as the County Attorney for New Hanover County for many years and is now retired.

Justin Burgess, CFP® Investment Advisor Representative |
Mr. Burgess joined Copley Investment Management in 2015. He works with individuals seeking help with investments and retirement planning and employees of employer sponsored retirement plans. Prior to that, he worked in banking for 4 years while completing his training as a financial advisor. Justin grew up in Henderson, NC where he enjoyed farm life before attending UNC Wilmington. He earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship in 2010. Justin and his wife Mehegan live in Wilmington and attend St. Johns Episcopal Church. The have two girls, Virginia Parks (4) and Lawson (3). Justin’s hobbies include basketball, tennis, ping pong, billiards, boating, going to the beach and traveling with his family.

Kimberly Meehl joined Copley Investment Management in 2016. Kim assists with onboarding new clients, servicing existing client needs, creating quarterly reports and managing day to day operations. Kim and her husband Chris have lived in Wilmington over 20 years, where Chris is the Athletic Director of Cape Fear Academy. They have two children, Preston and Katie.
